Hanging out around here is a good time. The day started with a trip to pick up Gina's cousin, Crystal, and then we were off to grab some food at Swingers. You can never go wrong with a meal from there. Still the BEST chocolate shake I've had in a long time. After lunch it was movie time at the Archlight. We decided to go check out Crazy Heart which was great. Jeff Bridges was fantastic as Bad Blake and not a bad singer, which is a good thing, considering his character is a country singer. Next up was AMOEBA! I love me some Amoeba. Like I mentioned during the summer, I could easily spend hours upon hours there, but we didn't have that kind of time. I was only successful in finding one album in stock for a friend. The others were all sold out.
When we left the record store, the Wolfman premiere was starting up, so we walked behind a barrier and waited around for a few. Low and behold people started walking out. Crystal and I got our picture taken with Craig Robinson (Darryl from The Office) and I snapped some more shots of Common, Emily Blunt, and Benicio Del Toro. Throughout the night we saw John Krasinski, Hugo Weaving, and Anthony Hopkins walk into the theater as well. So, yeah, it was an interesting experience. I will say one thing: I HATE THE PAPARAZZI WITH A PASSION. I think I hate them even more now given we were standing between a group of them. They were talking down to everyone around us, almost disgusted some didn't know who "person x" was or that "person c" was going to be in the new Tron movie or, well, you get the idea. Basically they're all a bunch of self-involved dicks who take pictures and invade other people's privacy for a living. Way to go, I hope you feel great about yourself. Not to be shallow, but all of them...not the best looking group of people, either. So yeah, moral of the story, never join the paparazzi unless you want your life to amount to nothing important. I know, I really do hate these people. As I was taking pictures with my little Canon PowerShot, I was feeling a little stupid. I was doing the same thing these other douchebags were doing with a cheaper camera. Still, I figured since I was there, I might as well.
To end the night we headed to a shake shop called Millions of Milkshakes to grab some dessert. To be honest with you, it wasn't anything too special. Think Coldstone for shakes and you've got a good idea of what it's all about. After that we drove through the hills for a bit, dropped Crystal off, grabbed some dinner, and now I'm laying in bed at Gina's. I can't believe I'm going to be on a flight back home tomorrow around this time. I can tell you one thing, I'm going to be tired. Haha. Even though I'm on the West Coast, I'm definitely still on East Coast time.
Pick up your crazy heart and give it one more try,
B
