Next, there's some big news regarding the Michigan film industry that will be revealed tonight during Governor Granholm's State of the State address. From what information is available now, 2 new studios will be opening up: One in Pontiac at GM's former Centerpoint auto plant; The other in Detroit, taking the place of the old MGM Grand Casino. Motown Motion Picture Studios (Pontiac) will be a full on production studio while Detroit Center Studios (Detroit...duh) will deal more in "Hollywood-style" digital animation and visual effects (ARE YOU READING THIS RHETT BLANKENSHIP!?) for film, TV, etc. I'm excited to find out more information on both - more importantly, people to contact.
